We still need at least a thousand signatures to get on the ballot in November and we simply cannot do it sitting on the comfy couch. Please join us at one or two of these upcoming events to make it happen. Email campaign manager Beth Mercer-Taylor at beth@betterballotcampaign.org to sign up for an event or to find other ways to plug in. We will put you in contact with an event coordinator so you can work out details. We just need to know you're on board! The Rondo Days Grand Parade! The parade and festival celebrates the strong African-American community once centered around Rondo Avenue. The drill team competition at 6 pm at Central High School is a particularly exciting spectator event, but the focus of the campaign team is the morning parade. We're meeting at Mississippi Market at Selby and Dale at 9:30 am sharp. Yes? beth@betterballotcampaign.org Highland Fest! No parade at this one, dangit, but this event should be a good opportunity to capture St. Paul residents' signatures. These short outings are set for Highland Fest; Friday from 4-6:00pm and Sunday from 1-4:00pm. In each case, we will meet 15 minutes in advance at Sisu Coffee and Tea at 649 Snelling Ave S. On July 24, from 9:00 to 10:30am, come to the Hamline Law and Graduate Schools Conference Center to see how Instant Runoff Voting works first hand by sampling and ranking your favorite pastries. Join expert panelists Secretary of State Mark Ritchie; Mpls Councilmember Ralph Remington; Hamline Professor of Graduate School of Management, David Schultz; Former Congressman and Humphrey Institute Senior Fellow, Tim Penny; State Representative Carlos Mariani; FairVote Executive Director, Jeanne Massey and MN Council of Non-profits Executive Director Jon Pratt and learn about Instant Runoff Voting and where it's going in Minnesota.
