Can You Spare Time OR MONEY?| Wine and Sign Your Friends| Mpls Fundraiser for St. Paul Contribute Time or Money to Collect Signatures The City Council has officially run out of time to take ownership of the IRV referendum. Now, the only method to proceed is to collect 5,100 St. Paul voters' signatures by August 14, 2007. We are at about 3,800, so we really need your help to finish the job. Beginning immediately, the Better Ballot Campaign will dig in to gather the 2,800 final signatures (yes, we can do math, but we want a "cushion" to deal with spoiled or illegible signatures.) Our great crew of petitionors will continue to work crowds at events, parks, neighborhoods and even busses in St. Paul. JOIN US!! If you simply cannot help gather petitions signatures for whatever reason, consider contributing to our intern fund. We are hiring 4-6 paid interns to help us create that cushion of signatures. If as few as twelve individuals or groups contributed $250 it would cover the entire cost of the intern program. Wine and Sign Your Friends Bring your friends, neighbors, family members or co-workers to the Wine Thief on July 12th or 14th to sample wine and use instant runoff voting to pick the best. The Better Ballot campaign will be on hand to talk about IRV and will provide petitions for people who still need to sign. These events are free and open to the public 5-7 pm on Thursday, July 12, and 3-5 pm on Saturday, July 14. The Wine Thief is an adorable, unique wine shop located on St. Clair Ave near Fairview. Mpls Hosts St. Paul Fundraiser Jeanne Massey, executive director of FairVote Minnesota, will host a fundraiser for the St. Paul Better Ballot Campaign on Thurdsay, July 19th at 6:00 pm. Event details forthcoming. Come, invite some friends, and raise the funds we need to finish the campaign.
