Multiple-choice questions weren't enough to drive Minneapolis voters to the polls Tuesday night.

Excitement over the city's first-ever ranked-choice election couldn't overcome an uneventful re-election bid by Mayor R.T. Rybak and a ballot question over the Board of Estimate and Taxation that wasn't exactly burning up water-cooler debates across the city. Voter turnout was low, but the election seemed to be a success.

"The truth of the matter was, it went off pretty doggone well," interim Minneapolis Elections Director Pat O'Connor said. "I was delighted with how well the voters seem to be prepared. I was delighted with how well they did with the ballots."
