Media reminds St. Paul voters to go to the polls, Minneapolis voters to stay home
The media have done a wonderful job of informing Minneapolis voters that there's no primary election today, September 15th, with the change in Minneapolis elections this year to Ranked Choice Voting.
With Ranked Choice Voting, the city primary and general elections are folded into one, allowing all candidates to run in the General Election. This means just one trip to the polls in November and more choices for more voters.
Primaries are being held in St. Paul, Duluth and other cities across Minnesota. Turnout is expected to be light as is typcially the case in local primary elections.
St. Paul voters will have the opportunity consider Ranked Choice Voting (Instant Runoff Voting on the ballot this year for use in future city elections.
