Volunteer Opportunities
Summer is here, and local events are in full swing! Here is a list of opportunities to enjoy the warm weather and spread awareness about IRV. Wear your St. Paul Better Ballot Campaign shirt and hand out some IRV literature before, between or after the festivities. Pick up a tee and materials at 874 Fairmount Ave from the blue bin on the front porch, or contact and register with Dakotah Rae at dakotah@betterballotcamapaign.org.
- Everyday: Wear your Better Ballot Campaign tee to weekend festivals, local sporting events, everywhere!
- August 19, 6:30-7PM, the 2008 Election: What's at Stake: at Dayton's Bluff Library. Pass out literature before this event wth Susan Estrich, a legal and political analyst, author, and professor at USC.
- August 22, dusk, Saint Paul-itics Political Scenes: at the Central Library Courtyard (showing The War Room). Pass out literature to folks lounging before the movie
begins.
- August 22, dusk, Movie in the Park: at Hazel Park (showing Finding Nemo). Pass out
literature to folks lounging before the movie begins.
- August 23, 10AM - 3PM Soccer Tournament & Voting: at West Side Boys and Girls Club, 291 E Belvidere St. West Side Citizen's 100 is hosting a soccer tournament for youth and adult teams, with information about voting during a free lunch 12-1PM. Come to learn about Instant Runoff Voting, how to register to vote, and where to vote on election day!
- September 2-3 2008, Peace Island: at Concordia University. We will be tabling at this great conference promoting and celebrating peace, justice, harmony, nonviolence, and care of the earth. A sign-up schedule will be available soon.
