RCV @ National Night Out - Aug. 3
Can it really be 16 years since a Minnesota governor – Arne Carlson, in 1994 – was elected with majority support? With a highly contested three-way DFL primary and a seven-way general election, the prospect of another minority gubernatorial winner looks imminent. Such divisive outcomes serve to frustrate and polarize voters, exacerbate partisanship and rancor, and diminish winners’ ability to govern effectively.
Elections in which candidates who lack majority support – or who may actually be opposed by most voters – set us up for failure in politics and, more importantly, in policymaking.
Elections in which voters feel conflicted between voting their heart and voting their fears weaken the value of our vote.
Underlying the story of this year’s gubernatorial race is the story of an electoral system in urgent need of reform.

Do you know if your candidates in this election support RCV? Click here to find out. If they do, thank them and urge them to talk to voters about the need for electoral reform. If not, contact them and ask them for their support! We've not had the opportunity to reach all the candidates so if they are not on the list, it does not mean they don't support RCV. Please help us contact them!
Attend candidate forums and ask their position on voting reform. Their votes determine what reform laws get passed; your vote determines who gets into office.
